Our Verdict

TrueProfit is one of the most complete profit analytics tools available for Shopify merchants. We accessed the demo account and explored every section — the dashboard, P&L report, Marketing Attribution, Customer LTV, and Product Analytics. The depth is genuinely impressive: every cost category is broken down individually (COGS, shipping, transaction fees, handling fees, custom costs, and per-platform ad spend), the P&L report gives a daily column-by-column breakdown, and the Customer LTV cohort table shows LTV vs CAC by acquisition month. The 5.0 star rating from 779 Shopify App Store reviews reflects a product that consistently delivers. The main caveat: TrueProfit is built for Shopify. If you sell primarily on Amazon FBA, sellerboard is the right tool. But for Shopify-first sellers who run paid ads and want to know their actual margin — TrueProfit is the standout choice in its category.

What Is TrueProfit?

TrueProfit (trueprofit.io) is a net profit analytics platform built specifically for Shopify merchants. It connects to your Shopify store, your advertising accounts — Facebook, Google, TikTok, Bing, Snapchat and Amazon Advertising — and calculates your true net profit per order in real time by accounting for every cost that Shopify's native analytics misses.

The problem TrueProfit solves is a reporting one. Shopify shows you revenue. It does not show you net profit after COGS, shipping, Amazon seller fees, handling fees, advertising spend and custom costs are deducted. Most Shopify merchants either rely on incomplete dashboard numbers, build manual spreadsheets, or do not know their real margins. TrueProfit automates the full calculation — tracking every cost in real time and giving you a per-order, per-product and store-level profit figure that updates continuously throughout the day.

"The TrueProfit dashboard — real-time net profit, revenue, total costs and performance trends updating throughout the day."

TrueProfit is Shopify-native. Its Amazon integration covers ad spend sync for Amazon Advertising, but the core platform is built around Shopify orders and Shopify store economics. If you sell primarily on Amazon FBA and need an Amazon P&L dashboard, sellerboard is the more appropriate tool.

TrueProfit Pricing

TrueProfit offers four pricing tiers based on order volume and feature depth. All plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. There is no annual billing option — pricing is monthly only. Each plan has a monthly order cap; orders over the cap incur a small additional fee.

Plan Monthly Price Best For
Basic $35/mo Small stores testing profit analytics

Scale $199/mo Scaling businesses running multiple ad campaigns
Ultimate $399/mo High-volume brands with complex multi-store needs
Pricing verified July 2026. All plans include 14-day free trial. No annual billing discount. Additional fee applies for orders over plan cap.

Key Features

Real-Time Profit Dashboard

TrueProfit's dashboard shows your true net profit updating in real time throughout the day. From the demo, we counted 15+ top-level metrics including Net Profit, Net Profit Margin, Revenue, Orders, Total Costs, COGS, Gross Profit Margin, Avg. Order Value, Total Ad Spend, Ad Spend Per Order, Shipping Costs, CAC and more. A cost breakdown chart shows the percentage split between COGS, shipping, ad spend, transaction fees, handling fees and custom costs at a glance. A daily performance chart tracks profitability trends and lets you overlay Net Profit, Revenue, Net Profit Margin and Total Costs on the same view.

P&L Report

The P&L Report is one of TrueProfit's strongest features. It generates a day-by-day column breakdown showing every revenue and cost line: Gross Sales, Discounts, Returns, Taxes Collected, Revenue, COGS, Shipping Costs, Transaction Fees, Handling Fees, Total Ad Spend (broken down per platform — Facebook, Google, Snapchat individually), Custom Costs (broken down by sub-type — Marketing, Taxes Paid, Office expenses, etc.), Gross Profit, Net Profit and Net Profit Margin. This level of line-item detail is rare at this price point and makes the P&L genuinely useful for financial review.

Marketing Attribution

TrueProfit's Marketing Attribution module uses its own tracking pixel and URL parameters to attribute conversions across ad channels. It tracks Assisted Purchases and Last-clicked Purchases separately — a meaningful distinction for understanding how channels contribute across the full funnel. Per-account metrics include ROAS, Impressions, Clicks, CTR, Adds to Cart, Cost per ATC, Purchases, Cost per Purchase, Conversion Rate and Net Profit on Ad Spend. Setup requires activating the TrueProfit Pixel in your Shopify theme settings and adding URL parameters to your ad destination URLs.

Customer Lifetime Value

The LTV module provides cohort-level analysis of customer value over time. The demo showed all-time data across 11,376 customers with an LTV of €372.34, CAC of €267.16 and LTV:CAC ratio of 1.39:1. The cohort table breaks this down month by month — showing New Customers, Repurchase Rate, Revenue, LTV, CAC and LTV:CAC Ratio for each acquisition cohort. You can filter by Country, Source and Discount Code to segment cohorts. This is the feature most valuable for brands investing in acquisition who want to understand the true long-term return on their ad spend.

Product Analytics

The Product Analytics module shows per-SKU profitability across 15+ metrics: Revenue, Units Sold, COGS, Ad Spend, Total Cost, Net Profit, Net Profit Margin, Net Profit on Ad Spend, Gross Profit, Gross Profit Margin, Views, Adds to Cart, Add to Cart Rate, Purchases and Conversion Rate. Columns are customisable. This allows you to rank your catalogue by net profit rather than revenue — immediately identifying which products are making money and which are popular but margin-negative.

Mobile App and MCP Integration

TrueProfit includes a mobile app for iOS and Android — the demo shows a QR code in the dashboard footer for quick install. A newer addition is MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration, which connects TrueProfit's profit data to AI tools including ChatGPT and Claude, allowing you to ask questions about your store's financial performance in natural language and receive computed answers from your actual data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TrueProfit the same as sellerboard for Shopify?

TrueProfit and sellerboard are comparable in purpose — both track true net profit automatically — but built for different platforms. sellerboard is built for Amazon FBA sellers and tracks FBA fees, storage, advertising and COGS per ASIN. TrueProfit is built for Shopify merchants and tracks Shopify payments, ad spend across social platforms, shipping and custom costs. If you sell on both Amazon and Shopify, you may need both tools.

Does TrueProfit track Amazon revenue?

TrueProfit syncs ad spend data from Amazon Advertising (alongside Facebook, Google and TikTok), but it is not an Amazon seller analytics tool. It does not connect to Amazon Seller Central or track FBA fees, referral fees, or Amazon order data. If Amazon is your primary channel, sellerboard is the right tool.

What does the 14-day free trial include?

The 14-day free trial gives full access to TrueProfit's features. You can connect your Shopify store, enter your COGS data, sync your ad accounts and see your real-time profit dashboard without a credit card. At the end of the trial you choose a plan or stop.

How accurate is TrueProfit's profit calculation?

Accuracy depends on the quality of data you provide — particularly COGS. Revenue, Shopify transaction fees and ad spend are pulled directly from the respective APIs and are accurate. Shipping costs, handling fees and custom costs are accurate once correctly configured. The initial COGS setup is the most time-consuming part of getting accurate numbers.

Does TrueProfit support multiple Shopify stores?

Yes — TrueProfit offers a multi-store view across all plans, allowing you to see aggregated performance data from multiple Shopify stores in one dashboard. Each store requires its own TrueProfit plan subscription.

The Bottom Line

TrueProfit is the right profit analytics tool for Shopify merchants who run paid advertising and want to see their actual margin — not just revenue. The dashboard depth is impressive: 15+ real-time metrics, a day-by-day P&L with per-platform ad cost breakdown, per-SKU profitability ranking, Marketing Attribution with Assisted vs Last-click tracking, and a Customer LTV cohort table. The 5.0 star rating from 779 reviews is not an accident. At $35/month on the Basic plan it is accessible, though Product Analytics and the P&L Report — arguably its two strongest features — require the Advanced plan at $99/month. For Shopify-first DTC brands and dropshippers who need real numbers to make real decisions, TrueProfit delivers.
